The second AMORES project partner meeting took place in Silkeborg, Denmark, from 6-7 October. Eleven team members from nine partner organisations had the opportunity to bring each other up to date on project progress, agree on the best way to proceed and reflect on project implementation experiences. The meeting was hosted by Skægkærskolen school, where project partners were able to observe two classes piloting the AMORES teaching methodology.

The meeting coincided with a very important stage of the project – the recent beginning of the implementation of the AMORES teaching methodology in the five schools taking part in the project. The new methodology is based around the creation of digital artefacts inspired by national literature, as well as the sharing and discussion of these artefacts. For example, Croatian students could create a video based on a tale by Ivana Brlić Mažuranić and share and discuss this video – in English – with Swedish students during a videoconference.
The Danish partners also organised a meeting between the AMORES team and the Silkeborg mayor Steen Vindum. The mayor talked to the AMORES partners about the plans for significant investments in the education system, which this prosperous community considers a priority. The partners in turn presented the AMORES project, noting that the project aims of encouraging a love of reading and the development of digital competencies were very much in line with the aims of the local government.
Also , the AMORES team enjoyed a visit to the Paper Mill Museum, where they had a go at manufacturing paper by hand. They also learned about the history of Silkeborg, a town founded and developed around Michael Drewsen's paper mill in 1844.
