After the very successful first Poland-Denmark videoconference the next one took place between Karlbergsskolan, Kӧping, Sweden, and Horvati Primary School, Zagreb, Croatia. The Swedish students in 7A presented the e-artefacts they created working on the book Mio My Son by the famous child book writer Astrid Lindgren (the original title is Mio min Mio) to the Croatian students in grade 6.

The 28 students on the Swedish side, and the 16 Croatian students with their teachers, Lena and Ivan were excited to meet on Skype and find out more about the partner country, especially as the project will involve Swedish students visiting Croatia in the beginning of May and vice versa. The Croatians will visit Sweden towards the end of May.
The main part of the VC lesson was to present the Swedish e-artefacts and to learn more about the Swedish author, Astrid Lindgren and her writing. The students from Karlbergsskolan in Sweden had made films in i-movie where they presented parts of the book. The films were sent to Croatia in advance so that the Croatian students could prepare questions that they asked during the VC. The Croatian students also voted for the best e-artefact, which turned out to be the one that Alma’s group (7A) had made.
Before we discussed reading and e-artefacts, both schools showed their European classmates a presentation about their home country made in Prezi. This was a splendid way to be able to show pictures at the same time that they were talking and watching each other on the big screen. All the students did an excellent job in speaking English and taking responsibility for the presentation. We all learned a lot! After the VC was over the students commented that it had been nervous but fun.
At this moment Sweden and Croatia are busy planning for the next VC (scheduled for 27/4), when Croatia will present their e-artefacts. We are also looking forward to our visit in Zagreb!
